1/52/2018: Kitchen Picnics and Play Dough

Thursday, January 11, 2018

The Twelve Days of Christmas ended up being the most frigid days of 2017 and 2018 (well, that's not saying much for 2018...), which put a damper on some of my plans! Luckily, Play Dough is always an appropriate indoor activity. Various Star Wars characters were created with the cookie cutters that were a gift for a previous day (we were going to bake cookies... THAT didn't happen!), colors were mixed, tears were shed... You know, typical!

The kids decided that it was too cold in the rest of the house, so they took to eating lunch in front of the warm wood stove. Not a bad idea, honestly! Definitely the coziest spot in the house.

Edith has figured out how to open the doors of the play kitchen, which means she spends long-ish periods of time pulling out all the pretend food and throwing it all over the floor. Thankfully her siblings are good sports about cleaning up the baby's mess! It was a lot harder when we had four-under-four and NOBODY was very good at cleaning up... Now John Paul and Cecilia are experts and the twins are decent if they decide not to whine. Peter's a work in progress...
