My Sunday Best, Volume 58: Picking My Battles (and Sister Pictures)

Sunday, June 11, 2017

Happy Trinity Sunday! It was super-hot today, so we dressed as lightly as we could... I had pulled out a hand-me-down dress for Edith and decided to put her in it for Mass, and then remembered that I have pictures of all three older girls wearing that same dress, sitting in the same chair. Just in case you've been wondering who looks like whom, we have...

Edith

Mary Claire

Elizabeth

Cecilia

Not surprisingly, nearly 8 years after acquiring that chair, it's in need of reupholstering... I didn't even show the worst part!

Mary Claire insisted on wearing floral pajama pants under her dress. She was ADAMANT. I was... Not going to fight it. Then she changed into a bonnet right before Mass. And ultimately decided on no hat. But don't worry, she stuck with the floral pants!

I wore my favorite eShakti skirt (no longer available, but they have tons of cute ones right now! Here's a similar one from Kohl's) along with an ancient workhorse blouse and the same shoes as last week.

And in a similar "pick your battles" vein, I laid out all of John Paul's clothes and he decided he did NOT want to wear the belt, and that he'd trade the chambray bow tie for a gray one. Also, poor kid, sorry I never iron your shirt plackets...

Do you feel a little bit badly for men and boys during the summer, when they have to wear so many different layers to be dressed appropriately for church? I suppose the trade-off is in the winter, when they get to wear their cozy warm suits while we're freezing in dresses!

Behavior was overall not too bad during Mass, although Edith was fussy enough at the altar rail that Father remarked about it after Mass! But she was all smiles then, of course... How was your Mass?

Shoutout to Anni for getting the most clicks last week - looks like her Stroll Down Memory Lane piqued your interest!

Your turn!

Post your outfit details & links or not, regale us all with your children's antics, reflect deeply on the readings, or just do a straight picture post - anything goes as long as you actually wore your outfit to church. The link-up is open until Friday, so you've got plenty of time to add your post!

Just a few ground rules before you link up:

1. Please include a photo of what you wore to church this week.

2. Please link back to this post in the body of your post, so your readers know where to find other posts (posts not mentioning "My Sunday Best" or not linking back to this post will be subject to removal).

3. Please visit some other posts in the link-up & leave a nice comment - this is all about affirming each other and building community, not just link dropping :)

4. Make sure the link you add is a link to your specific post or instagram picture (hashtag #mysundaybest and mention me in your caption, @rosiehill425 so I don't miss it!), not just your blog address.

5. Enjoy, and thanks for linking up!
